Sophie Gault with Lost Patterns and Hillary York Live at the Cactus Cafe!

Thursday, March 5, 2026 - 7:30 PM CST

Sophie Gault has always been a little unhinged. A Nashville-based Americana rocker with a midnight voice and an eye and ear for last call rock and roll, she writes songs that swagger, stumble, wink, and bleed. In her new full-length album, Gault triples down on the risk-taking drive that has revved her from dive bars to the big tents, crafting a record that feels at once deeply personal and side-eye defiant.

Bryan Jack Live at The Cactus Cafe!

Thursday, March 12, 2026 - 7:30 PM CST

Bryan Jack is a 4th-generation Austinite, UT graduate, and father of three whose songs live where laughter and heartbreak share the same breath. Rooted in family, faith, fatherhood, and a little late-night revelry, his writing has a way of sneaking up on you—disarming, honest, and capable of turning a room quiet in seconds.

His debut 11-song album, The Marfa Drive, has already garnered nearly 100,000 streams, with the full album release landing the evening of March 12—this show marking the official release party. The record captures a life fully lived, offering soulful, road-worn songs that move effortlessly from wry humor to deep emotion and reconciliation.

Bryan’s music and songwriting have drawn comparisons to Ray Wylie HubbardGuy ClarkBob Dylan, and Mickey Newbury—artists known for telling the truth without flinching. His songs are soulful, human, and unpolished in the best possible way.

A familiar face at the Cactus Cafe open mic since 2022, Bryan has spent years soaking up the magic of this room—watching countless artists do what it does best. Now, he steps onto that same stage for an intimate acoustic performance, featuring harmonica, acoustic guitar, and a few special guest appearances from close friends.

This will be an evening among friends, in the best listening room in Texas—one where the stories land, the songs linger, and you leave feeling a little more connected than when you arrived.

The band boasts a collection of songs written by Nick Fichter (vocalist, guitarist, and part time pedal-steelist) and arranged in collaboration with Andrew Held (vocalist and keyboardist). Matthew Payne Live at The Cactus Cafe!

Friday, April 10, 2026 - 7:30 PM CST

Combine Townes Van Zandt with Jimmie Rodgers, and somewhere in the middle, you’ll find Matthew Payne.

Texas songwriter and Americana artist Matthew Payne grew up in the beautiful hill country surrounding Dripping Springs, and worked as an educator in Austin for almost two decades. He taught high school English and Creative Writing, and loved every minute of it. The release of his debut EP, Coyote Howlin Blues, showcases an earthy, down-home style reminiscent of the old-time country and acoustic blues traditions of Texas songwriters mixed with Appalachian folk. It explores the human heart at its raw depth. It’s a love story, perhaps, among other things, and howls like the wild coyote. “Matthew’s vocals crack with raw authenticity and the songs sparkle like bright amethysts you find when you split open the dusty rocks of life,” says Americana Highways.

Songwriter Session feat. Daisy O'Connor & Leslie Sisson - Live Recording at The Cactus Cafe!

Saturday, May 2, 2026 - 7:30 PM CST

Austin singer-songwriter Daisy O’Connor makes her long-awaited return to the Cactus stage after six years away from live performances. Currently curating a mix of fresh material and longtime favorites, Daisy will capture the evening as a live recording. Though her recorded work has evolved from intimate solo beginnings into a dynamic full-band folk-rock sound, this special show offers a rare acoustic performance that reflects her early days in Austin’s vibrant folk community.

Leslie Sisson is the songwriter and front woman of Moving Panoramas. Her music is the cathartic result of a long series of traumatic events, including surviving being drugged and kidnapped by a murderer during a home invasion, to battling breast cancer for the past two years. She’s an open book and her music resonates with an open heart. Leslie is currently working on a new Moving Panoramas album followed by a more stripped down solo collection of songs to share that capture the spirit of this trauma core battlefield. Solo is how all the songs begin and this next chapter is a new beginning of shedding some of that trauma skin.
